To Play or Not to Play

After getting caught up in a sex scandal, losing on Monday Night Fooball thanks in part to a late pick-six, playing on a 1-3 team, struggling with elbow tendonitis, and taking a football in a "soft" spot in practice, you could say things haven't been going to swell for Brett Favre lately. You can call it a series of mis-fortune or karma that's catching up to Favre, but either way, coach Brad Childress and the Vikings staff and players are just trying to figure out who will be taking the snaps Sunday.
Favre's record consecutive-games streak could be in jeopardy of being snapped this Sunday, with Favre having trouble with tendinitis in his throwing elbow. Favre, who threw his 500th touchdown pass and surpassed 70,000 pass yards Monday night, didn't seem to concerned with his streak possibly ending. He knows he needs the rest. He knows his body can only take so much at the age of 41. But at the same time, every other time we thought he might not play he has.
Many are starting to question if Favre will even make it through the rest of the season. He wasn't in the shape that he should have been coming into this year, and the truth is, he really didn't want to have to go through the two-a-days in the August heat. This, even with Favre's annual "I'm not coming back then I am" flip-flopping, is almost an 100 percent chance this would be Favre's last season. Now it seems even more evident. But the problem for now is, will Favre play this week. As we all know, he'll keep us guessing.
